This book was a challenge for me. I became interested in reading it after I read His Dark Materials by Pullman because I had read somewhere that he had been inspired by this book. It took me forever to read because I was very young and some of the prose was hard to understand. I think this book is very interesting and in a couple of ways I guess I consider it a must read. It was a very hard book to read at the age of 13, so I do recommend this to older readers, and i won't say I enjoyed the process of reading it because I would get tired of it quite easily at that age. I'm sure this book is a lot more entertaining to more experienced readers so I still recommend it, especially to those of you who are interested in reading theological books.
