Demian: Die Geschichte von Emil Sinclairs Jugend (suhrkamp taschenbuch)

Demian. Die Geschichte von Emil Sinclairs Jugend - Hermann Hesse Probably one of the best books I had to read in school! This book is really amazing and is probably one of the books that introduced and got me interested in the world of psychology. Hermann Hesse was Karl Jung's patient and he took a lot from his sessions with Jung and placed certain concepts and ideas in the book. The book is also interesting because it shows a character who is in the process of growing up and becoming enlightened in a very particular way. I don't know if this book is for everyone though, I know certain people who have read it and have thought the ideas proposed by Hesse were to extreme and made them uncomfortable, probably because the book does criticize Christian religion a bit. If you have an open mind and want to read something truly and I mean truly original then you really should give Demian a try.
